Greater St. Louis, Inc.'s Interim CEO Dustin Allison has voiced opposition to St. Louis County Proposition B, which will appear on the April 8, 2025 ballot. The proposition would allow the County Council to dismiss key county employees.

Allison stated, "The mission of Greater St. Louis, Inc. is growing the St. Louis region. At a time when the region needs common-sense solutions to reduce barriers to growth, Proposition B is a distraction."

He emphasized that department heads should be chosen based on expertise rather than political affiliations and should be evaluated on job performance instead of political disputes.

"Proposition B would expose subject-matter experts in complex professions to the whims of county council politics and hang a cloud over the head of any qualified person looking to serve the citizens of St. Louis County," Allison said.

He expressed concern that passing Proposition B could hinder recruitment efforts for qualified personnel necessary for managing county government effectively.

"For the region to grow and prosper, it must have strong public servants who know how to work together," he added. He urged voters in St. Louis County to reject Proposition B in order to maintain focus on regional growth without political interference.
