U.S. Senator Josh Hawley has introduced legislation aimed at ending taxes on overtime pay, titled the "No Tax On Overtime Act of 2025." This legislative move is part of a campaign promise from former President Trump to provide relief for working families, which Senator Hawley argues is necessary following economic challenges during the Biden administration.
Senator Hawley stated, “For decades, working Americans have been left behind by both parties. Mega corporations have gotten richer and richer while workers struggle to get ahead and Washington turns a blind eye.” He emphasized that President Trump had promised to prioritize American workers by eliminating taxes on overtime pay and expressed his intention to fulfill this commitment: “Let’s follow through on that promise and deliver a win for workers.”
The Missouri senator has consistently advocated for fair wages not only for Missourians but also for all Americans. He asserts that supporting workers involves fighting for wages capable of sustaining a family.
This new bill is part of Senator Hawley's broader pro-worker, pro-family agenda, which includes the bipartisan Faster Labor Contracts Act and the Preventing Child Labor Exploitation in Federal Contracting Act.
