A Missouri Lottery player recently discovered he had won a $50,000 Powerball prize after purchasing a Quick Pick ticket at Town & Country Supermarket in Ironton. The ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number drawn on March 1.
“It was about a week later that I checked my tickets and found out I won,” said the winner. He recounted how one of his tickets resulted in a “Claim at the Lottery office” message upon scanning.
“I was very surprised!” he expressed. “I’ve never won anything like this before!”
The winning numbers for the March 1 drawing were 2, 23, 36, 44, and 49, with a Powerball number of 25. Powerball is a multi-state draw game with drawings held three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. The estimated jackpot for Saturday stands at $444 million.
In Fiscal Year 2024, players in Iron County claimed over $1.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers earned more than $170,000 through commissions and bonuses while education programs in the county benefited from over $425,000 in lottery proceeds.
