In a recent interview on Wake Up Mid-Missouri, Brad Jones, the State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Missouri, addressed key concerns affecting small businesses during the current legislative session. The discussion focused on tax reform and challenges related to Proposition A.
Jones highlighted the issues surrounding Proposition A, stating: "There are several bills in the House that have been heard. The sick leave part is really causing some heartburn in the small business community. There are so many questions about how to implement it. It’s going to be very costly. So we’re really having some discussions about how to make it work."
In response to these concerns, NFIB and other members of Missouri's business community have taken action by filing a petition with the Missouri Supreme Court seeking to overturn Proposition A. The court is scheduled to hear oral arguments on March 12, 2025.
