Before the onset of the legislative spring break, the Missouri House of Representatives advanced HB 567, a bill designed to reverse key elements of Proposition A. With 96 members casting affirmative votes, the bill is now poised for consideration in the Senate. The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has expressed its backing of HB 567 and is actively urging Senate members to support its passage.

The central objective of HB 567 is to eliminate several components of Proposition A viewed as detrimental. Among the measures are the removal of paid sick leave, the discontinuation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustments, and a two-year delay in the implementation of the scheduled minimum wage increase.

Concurrently, the Missouri Supreme Court recently entertained oral arguments concerning the NFIB's case against Proposition A. The organization remains vigilant and committed to updating stakeholders as the Court's decision is anticipated.

Looking into the near future, the NFIB has announced its annual Small Business Day, set for April 23 in Jefferson City. This event aims to facilitate dialogue between small business owners and legislators.
