The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced a nighttime closure of northbound U.S. Route 65, north of Missouri Route 14 in Ozark. The closure is scheduled from 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, to 6 a.m. on Monday, February 17.

This closure is part of the U.S. Route 65 Highway Widening project in Christian County, where contractor crews will install a storm drain pipe under the highway. Lane closures will commence at 7 p.m. on Sunday night to prepare for the work.

"Northbound Route 65 lane closures will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday night, February 16," MoDOT stated, adding that "both lanes of northbound Route 65 CLOSED begin at 10 p.m. Sunday, February 16, and continue until 6 a.m. Monday morning, February 17." This work was rescheduled from an earlier date of February 9.

During the closure period, drivers will encounter law enforcement directing traffic from northbound Route 65 to Route 14 (Jackson Street). While southbound Route 65 remains open with two lanes available, no signed detours are provided; drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.

MoDOT advises motorists that signs and message boards will alert them to the work zone and inform them about reduced speeds and potential traffic delays. They also recommend checking MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for updates on road closings and traffic impacts.

Weather or construction delays may affect the planned schedule.
