A Missouri Lottery player turned a $10,000 win into a $50,000 prize by using the Megaplier option in the Mega Millions draw on January 28. The ticket was purchased at Fast & Friendly located at 243 S. Main St. in Licking.

The winning numbers selected by the player were 10, 19, 31, 47, and 56 with a Mega Ball number of 6. These matched four out of five white-ball numbers along with the Mega Ball drawn that night. The Megaplier number was 5, which multiplied the base prize to reach a total of $50,000.

"I put a note on the ticket, ‘Make sure nothing happens to this one’ for my wife," said the winner. "She started jumping up and down and asked, ‘Are you serious?!’"

Mega Millions is played across multiple states with drawings every Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. The upcoming jackpot is estimated at $165 million.

In fiscal year 2024, Texas County players won over $7.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers earned more than $420,000 in commissions and bonuses while over $3 million from lottery proceeds supported education programs in the county.
