The Putnam County Route M bridge over Medicine Creek Fork near Powersville has reopened after a replacement project as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle initiative. The Capital - Horner & Shifirin team collaborated with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) under a design-build contract to complete the project, allowing for the reopening on Friday afternoon, January 24.

The Northwest Bridge Bundle aims to replace or rehabilitate 31 bridges in poor condition across north central Missouri. More information on these projects is available on the Northwest Bridge Bundle web page.

Design-build is a method where one contracting team handles both design and construction under a single contract. MoDOT outlines the project's goals, budget, and schedule, while the contractor executes the work. This approach often results in time and cost savings.

MoDOT encourages drivers to practice safety by buckling up, keeping phones down, slowing down, and moving over in work zones. Travelers can check for potential work zones at traveler.modot.org before heading out.

For updates on projects and work zones, individuals can sign up for eUpdates or access information anytime by calling 888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636). MoDOT also shares updates through social media platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram.
