A man from St. Louis County has admitted to charges related to dogfighting activities. Terrell Williams, aged 52, confessed on Friday to hosting dogfights in his Riverview, Missouri home during July and August of 2021. He also acknowledged breeding and owning several bull terriers or terrier mixes for the purpose of fighting between September 5, 2020, and May 1, 2022.
On June 22, 2022, FBI agents executed a court-approved search of Williams' residence. During the search, they seized eight bull terrier mixes and three Yorkshire terriers. Additionally, they found equipment used for training and conditioning dogs such as weighted vests, body-enhancing chemicals, and a canine treadmill. Some dogs displayed aggressive behavior towards humans and other dogs and bore scars indicative of dog bites or fighting.
Williams pleaded guilty to the charge of dogfighting which carries a potential penalty of up to five years in prison or a $250,000 fine or both. His sentencing is set for June 6.
As part of his plea agreement, Williams consented to relinquish ownership of the seized dogs along with the training equipment.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson handling the prosecution.
