St. Louis Magazine has announced the finalists for its 2025 Excellence in Nursing Awards, aimed at acknowledging nurses who make significant contributions to healthcare. The awards recognize those who excel in their practice and positively impact their communities.
"St. Louis Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing Awards provide an opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of nurses who have made a significant impact at SLU and within their communities," stated Kristine L'Ecuyer, Ph.D., Interim Dean of the Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing. "We are proud of our colleagues and their invaluable contributions to the field of health care."
The selection process involved a thorough review by a panel of judges. Five nurses from the Valentine School of Nursing have been named as finalists:
- Geralyn Ochs, associate professor of nursing and coordinator for adult/gerontological acute care nurse practitioner option, in Acute Care/Family Practice/General Medicine.
- Michelle Papachrisanthou, DNP, associate dean for graduate nursing education, in Administration.
- Diana Llamas, assistant professor and simulation operations manager, in Community/Ambulatory Care.
- Melissa Holman, adjunct professor of nursing, in Educator.
- Kristin Keller, Ph.D., assistant professor of nursing, in Oncology.
These finalists will be celebrated at an awards reception this summer where winners will be announced. Their achievements will also be featured in the June/July issue of St. Louis Magazine. The event is expected to gather healthcare professionals, community leaders, and supporters to honor these outstanding individuals.
