Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has taken legal action against a contractor in Boone County for alleged fraud. Anthony Walters, the owner of Anthony Walters Carpentry, LLC, is being sued for failing to deliver promised home renovation services to a consumer. Attorney General Bailey emphasized his commitment to upholding the law and seeking justice for victims of consumer fraud, stating, "I will always fight for the rule of law, which includes holding individuals accountable for ripping off Missourians."

According to the lawsuit filed by General Bailey's office, Walters accepted advance payment from a consumer in exchange for construction services and materials. However, he failed to fulfill his promises, provided minimal services and materials, did not complete the project, and did not issue a refund. As a result, the consumer suffered a loss of approximately $6,500.

General Bailey is actively pursuing restitution for the affected consumer, in addition to seeking injunctive relief and civil penalties against Walters. Consumers who believe they have been victims of scams involving Anthony Walters or any other contractor are encouraged to report their experiences to the Missouri Attorney General's Office either by calling the Consumer Protection Hotline at 800-392-8222 or by submitting a complaint online at ago.mo.gov.

The lawsuit filed against Anthony Walters can be accessed for further details and information regarding the case.
