On March 19, 2024, service members from the 131st Bomb Wing came together to share their thoughts on the significance of Women’s History Month and the importance of recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of women throughout history.
Master Sgt. Kirsten Lovins, recruiting flight chief for the 131st Bomb Wing, highlighted the sacrifices of women in the past that have paved the way for current women to serve the community and nation. She expressed, “We are separate and unique in our own ways, but together we make an incredibly strong team.”
Senior Airman Jennafer Beckham, a low observable structural maintainer for the 131st Maintenance Group, shared her motivation for joining the Air National Guard, saying, “After watching the earthquake in Haiti I knew it was my duty to help make a difference.” Beckham values teamwork and finds inspiration in serving her country, hoping to inspire others to find their best selves through service.
Senior Master Sgt. Nicole Willeford, a personnelist and wing secretary for the 131st Bomb Wing, sees Women’s History Month as an opportunity to honor the women who served before her and to set an example for future generations. Willeford expressed her love for putting on the uniform every day and being a positive influence on all Airmen.
