A Missouri Lottery player discovered she won a $2 million prize while at Casey’s, located at 7907 N. Oak Trafficway in Kansas City. The winning ticket was from one of her favorite $20 Scratchers games, named “$2,000,000 Extreme Cash.”
Upon scratching the ticket, she initially doubted her luck. “When I saw all the zeros, I thought, ‘That can’t be right,’ so I scanned the ticket. Then I scanned it again!” she said. To be entirely sure, she scanned it on her phone, confirming the win.
After confirming her fortune, she informed her family by calling her daughter. “She called me and had me do a four-way conference call with my brothers,” her daughter said. “Once we were all on the phone, she told us we had won!”
The winner and her three children claimed their prize at the Missouri Lottery’s Kansas City office on March 24.
In the fiscal year 2024, Clay County players won more than $29.6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received over $3.1 million in commissions and bonuses, while more than $10.1 million in proceeds supported educational programs in the area.
