U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) has expressed support for President Donald Trump's recent nominations of two individuals to serve as interim U.S. Attorneys for Missouri's Western and Eastern Districts. The nominees, Thomas Albus and Matthew Price, are set to assume their positions on August 1.
Schmitt highlighted his previous working relationship with Albus during his tenure as Missouri Attorney General, noting Albus's contributions as First Assistant in the Attorney General's office. He also acknowledged Price’s prosecutorial background and leadership skills.
“President Trump is the President of law and order, and I’m glad to see him select two exceptional interim U.S. Attorneys who will protect Missourians’ rights and promote law and order in Missouri’s Eastern and Western Districts. When I served as Missouri Attorney General, Thomas Albus played a key role as First Assistant in my Attorney General office as we worked to defend the Show Me State from big government overreach, and I’m impressed with Matthew Price’s extensive prosecutorial experience and leadership abilities. I’m thankful for President Trump’s attention to Missouri. Albus and Price are law men, through and through. It is my expectation that each will do a great job, and I look forward to seeing them swiftly confirmed,” said Senator Schmitt.
The appointments are effective August 1.
