Emil Bove has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. The confirmation drew praise from Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO), who is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
In a statement following the vote, Senator Schmitt said, “Emil Bove’s commitment to the law is unimpeachable, and his proven record fighting for the American people will make him an excellent Third Circuit Judge – which is precisely why the left fears him. Bove’s confirmation proves that Democrats’ coordinated smear campaigns no longer have a chokehold on the public narrative and Republicans will not bow to their desperate attempts to derail President Trump’s nominees. I was proud to support his nomination and am glad to see him confirmed by the Senate.”
The Senate's approval means Bove will take up duties on one of the nation's influential appellate courts, which hears cases from federal district courts in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the Virgin Islands.
Senator Schmitt had previously written an op-ed in support of Bove's nomination.
