A St. Louis County resident has admitted to selling methamphetamine and fentanyl to an undercover police detective during a series of transactions in 2024.

Stephon Murphy, 29, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of distribution of methamphetamine and three counts of distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl. According to court documents, Murphy sold the drugs to an undercover detective with the St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force on four separate occasions.

On May 24, 2024, Murphy sold 111.8 grams of methamphetamine in the parking lot of an apartment complex in St. Louis County. He conducted another sale at the same location on June 13, providing 113.6 grams of methamphetamine and 8.58 grams of fentanyl. The third transaction occurred on July 11 outside an apartment building in St. Louis, where Murphy sold 113.3 grams of methamphetamine and 3.9 grams of fentanyl.

The final sale took place on August 7, again outside the same building, where Murphy sold 112.3 grams of methamphetamine and 14.4 grams of fentanyl to the detective. During this last encounter, he was found with what appeared to be a pistol equipped with a drum magazine concealed in his pants.

Murphy is scheduled for sentencing on October 30. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Rebar is prosecuting.
