Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has signed new legislation creating a Downtown entertainment district in St. Louis. This move is expected to unlock state funding for hiring additional public safety personnel and promoting entertainment tourism. The announcement was made during a celebration with civic and business leaders in St. Louis.

"I’m proud to be born and raised in St. Louis and remain committed to revitalizing downtown," said Kehoe. "This special entertainment district marks a new chapter for business and community leaders to promote tourism, public safety, and economic growth in St. Louis."

The initiative aims to revitalize Downtown St. Louis through collaboration among local, regional, and state leaders. The STL 2030 Jobs Plan emphasizes the importance of strengthening the urban core for long-term metropolitan growth: “The success of our urban core … will strengthen our entire metropolitan region for decades to come and put more jobs within reach.” Governor Kehoe's endorsement of this legislation highlights ongoing efforts by organizations such as Greater St. Louis Chamber (GSL), Lodging Hospitality Management, and Gateway Arch Park Foundation.
