Announced in St. Louis, the American Beer Act aims to reduce Missouri's excise tax on American breweries by more than half. This legislative change is expected to make beer manufacturing more affordable and accessible, benefiting smaller operations as well. Governor Mike Kehoe signed the bill into law at Anheuser-Busch’s St. Louis brewery, with local and state leaders present.

Governor Kehoe stated, “With this law, we’re not just supporting Missouri’s beer industry, along with farmers, suppliers, and retailers that help brew and serve American beers — we’re also setting an example for how we can support American manufacturers, the jobs they create, and the impact they have on their local communities."

Anheuser-Busch has been a major player in setting standards for beer manufacturing globally. The new bill is seen as a continuation of this legacy by promoting a thriving environment for beer makers in Missouri.
