The Missouri General Assembly's 2025 legislative sessions focused on strengthening the state's technology sector. Key legislation included Senate Bill 4, sponsored by Sen. Mike Cierpiot, aimed at modernizing Missouri's energy infrastructure to support future technological demands. The bill is seen as a step towards making Missouri more competitive for major tech investments.

Senate Bill 1, introduced by Sen. Lincoln Hough during the Special Session, restored funding crucial for technology and higher education projects. This includes $50 million allocated to the NextGen MU Research Reactor, enhancing Missouri's role in nuclear medicine innovation.

House Bill 7 outlined significant financial commitments, such as $10 million for CHIPS Act programming to attract semiconductor manufacturers and other funds supporting pharmaceutical and startup initiatives. These investments signal Missouri's intent to compete globally in advanced manufacturing and digital innovation.

Missouri legislators also showed flexibility by revising House Bill 236 after industry experts highlighted potential issues with online content moderation standards. Similarly, House Bill 210 concerning drone regulation was stalled following discussions with industry leaders.

These efforts reflect collaboration between policymakers and industry experts to promote innovation while avoiding overregulation. The call to action encourages joining the Missouri Technology Alliance to continue advancing the state's pro-technology agenda.
