The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced an opening for the position of Political Director. This newly created role aims to strengthen the political voice of the business community in Missouri. The Political Director will collaborate with the Vice President of Governmental Affairs to devise a comprehensive strategy for the Missouri Chamber Political Institute. The responsibilities include fundraising, research, coalition building, endorsements, independent expenditures, ballot measure activity, political giving, voter education, data management, and candidate recruitment.
The job duties encompass leading political activities aligned with the Missouri Chamber's mission and establishing relationships with various stakeholders such as candidates, businesses, local chambers, associations, PACs, and political consultants. The director will spearhead fundraising efforts and manage political budgets alongside key financial officers. Additionally, they will oversee electoral campaigns and polling activities while ensuring compliance with Missouri Ethics Commission regulations.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and have 2-3 years of relevant political experience. Skills in public speaking, written communication, legislative analysis, and relationship-building are essential. The role requires strong organizational abilities to handle diverse campaign portfolios in a dynamic environment.
