The public meeting to discuss the Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge Replacement Project over MNA Railroad in Springfield has been postponed due to winter weather conditions. Originally scheduled for February 20, the meeting will be rescheduled, and new details will be announced through a news release and message boards.

The project involves replacing the bridge on Missouri Route 413 over the MNA Railroad and improving pedestrian facilities along both sides of the roadway from Scenic Avenue to Marion Avenue. During construction, Sunshine Street will be closed from east of Scenic Avenue to west of Marion Avenue for up to four months. A detour will be available via James River Freeway, Kansas Expressway, Chestnut Expressway, and U.S. Route 160. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during this period.

Construction is set to begin in March 2025 with an estimated cost of $5.9 million. Electronic message boards and news releases will keep the public informed about traffic impacts.
