The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced its schedule for highway maintenance and construction work in Northwest Missouri for the week of February 3-9. The department cautions that inclement weather could alter these plans, and advises checking their Traveler Information Map or app for updates.
MoDOT urges drivers to prioritize safety by wearing seat belts, avoiding phone use, slowing down, and moving over in work zones.
In Andrew County, bridge maintenance is planned at the One Hundred and Two River Bridge on Route C from February 2-6.
Buchanan County will see a closure on Interstate 229. The ramp and bridge from I-229 southbound to I-29 northbound will be closed for approach repairs on February 5 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Route D in Caldwell County remains closed at the Shoal Creek Bridge due to deck deterioration. This project was opened for contractor bidding in January and awaits review at the upcoming Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission meeting.
Chariton County's Route 11 is closed at the Salt Creek Bridge for replacement until March 2025 under Capital-Horner & Shifrin’s oversight. Meanwhile, Route UU will close from Dooley Ford Road to Obryan Avenue for culvert replacement on February 4-5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Carroll County’s Route J is also undergoing a bridge replacement project at the Bridge Creek Bridge through May 2025, managed by Capital-Horner & Shifrin as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle program.
Daviess County will conduct pothole patching on Routes KK, MM, V, and VV from February 3-7.
Livingston County’s U.S. Route 36 requires pavement repairs under two bridges in Chillicothe with lane narrowing enforced by Magruder Paving LLC due to width restrictions.
Nodaway County faces a prolonged closure on Route NN at Platte River Bridge west of Parnell because of significant deterioration; this project is slated for contractor letting in March through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
Finally, Putnam County’s Route 129 remains closed at North Blackbird Creek Bridge until February 2025 as part of Capital-Horner & Shifrin’s rehabilitation efforts within the NWBB program framework.
