Crews in Jackson County are set to conduct geotechnical scoping work along the Interstate 70 corridor in Kansas City, resulting in a series of lane and ramp closures. These closures are scheduled to occur on specific dates in February.

On Tuesday, February 4, from approximately 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., the ramp from Prospect to I-70 eastbound and the ramp from Indiana Ave. to I-70 eastbound will be closed.

From Tuesday, February 4, until Friday, February 7, daily intermittent lane closures will take place on I-70 eastbound between Benton Ave. and Manchester Trfy. Additionally, there will be intermittent ramp closures between Prospect Ave. and Manchester Trfy during these times.

Further closures are planned for Tuesday, February 11 through Friday, February 14. During this period, from approximately 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, similar intermittent lane and ramp closures will occur on I-70 eastbound between Benton Ave. and Manchester Trfy.

Motorists are advised to slow down and remain attentive while driving through work zones. It is important to note that not all work zones appear the same; they can include moving operations like striping or mowing or temporary lane closures for quick repairs or debris removal.
