Greater St. Louis, Inc. has appointed Tim Brinker as the Senior Vice President for Government Relations. Brinker, who is currently the Franklin County Presiding Commissioner, will lead government relations efforts at federal, state, and local levels.
GSL Interim CEO Dustin Allison commented on the appointment, stating: “Tim’s leadership and focus on collaboration brings a fresh and engaging new voice to our efforts to grow the region inclusively and advance our public policy agenda.” He expressed enthusiasm about Brinker joining their team.
Brinker's career in public service includes significant roles in regional initiatives such as East-West Gateway and the Missouri Association of Counties. He emphasized his commitment to regional growth by saying: “Growing the St. Louis metro is our most important priority.”
Brinker was appointed Presiding Commissioner of Franklin County in August 2018 by Governor Mike Parson. He subsequently won election to a full term that November. During his tenure, he participated actively in collaborative efforts addressing issues like violent crime and homelessness.
He resides in Washington, Missouri with his wife Betsy (Dill) Brinker and their four children.
Brinker's last day as Franklin County Presiding Commissioner will be February 14, after which he will assume his new role at GSL on February 17. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has been informed of Brinker's transition plans and will appoint a temporary replacement until an election is held.
The organization aims to continue expanding its public policy team with a focus on inclusive economic growth.
