Greater St. Louis, Inc. is set to join the global community in honoring the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 20th. The organization emphasizes its commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth across its 15-county metro area, aiming for equity and access irrespective of race or location.
The interim CEO of Greater St. Louis, Inc., Dustin Allison, stated: "Since our founding, we have remained committed to inclusive economic growth for everyone in our 15-county metro, a goal that requires tenacity, collaboration, and effort."
Allison further noted their dedication to continuing this mission: "As we look to the future, we have recommitted ourselves to the work necessary to advance our mission."
While Monday serves as a day of reflection for Greater St. Louis, Inc., they will resume activities on Tuesday with efforts focused on bringing new opportunities to underserved areas.
For those interested in participating locally in honoring Dr. King's legacy, Greater St. Louis has curated a list of events happening throughout the region:
- From January 2nd through the 31st: "We Can All Serve: MLK Food Drive" at all St. Louis Public Library locations.
- On January 17th through 19th: "MLK Community Celebration" at the St. Louis History Museum.
- On January 18th: "MLK Legacy of Service" at George Washington Carver Farms.
- On January 18th and 20th: "2025 Mid-County Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration" at Normandy High School.
- On January 19th: "2025 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration — Selections from 'Selma the Musical: The Untold Stories'" at Saint Louis Art Museum.
- On January 20th: "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration: The Annual Celebration" at Graham Chapel, Washington University Danforth Campus.
