A Missouri Lottery player experienced an unexpected windfall during a stop for gas in Jefferson City. After filling up at Brooks Street 66, located at 426 Brooks St., the player ventured inside the store to purchase a drink, noticing a "24K Gold" Scratchers ticket during her visit.

After purchasing the ticket and scratching it at the store, the player verified her win by scanning the barcode for confirmation. Reflecting on the moment, she shared her disbelief: "I couldn’t believe it! I quickly put it under my coat!" she laughed.

The winner, accompanied by her fiancé, traveled to Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City to claim her prize on April 8.

The "24K Gold" Scratchers game has distributed over $38.5 million in prizes to date. However, there remains over $12.3 million in prizes awaiting claim, including a top prize of $2 million and two more $100,000 prizes.

In the fiscal year 2024, lottery players in Cole County received prizes exceeding $14.8 million. Additionally, retailers gained more than $1.4 million from commissions and bonuses. The state also directed over $7.1 million in lottery proceeds to fund education programs within the county.
