ST. LOUIS – Global design, architecture, engineering, and planning firm HOK today announced that they will remain in downtown St. Louis for the long term. The firm plans to keep its St. Louis office and its 170 St. Louis-based staff downtown once its lease expires in August 2025.

“We are proud of our St. Louis origin and proud to have an office in downtown St. Louis ever since our founding,” said Margaret McDonald, a senior principal at HOK’s St. Louis studio. “As designers and planners, we know how important downtowns are to the health and vibrancy of a region. Simply put, you cannot be a suburb of nowhere. HOK is committed to seeing downtown St. Louis prosper.”

HOK currently works out of the Equitable Building at 10 S. Broadway but is now exploring other downtown office locations in addition to possibly building out new space in the Equitable Building.

HOK’s announcement came following the recent rollout of a new public-private partnership between the City of St. Louis and Greater St. Louis, Inc., aimed at accelerating efforts to make Downtown safe, vibrant, and beautiful.

“Through its groundbreaking and visionary work, HOK has long been at the global forefront of design and architecture,” said Kurt Weigle, Chief Downtown Officer for Greater St. Louis, Inc. “By committing to downtown St. Louis, they are again leading the way, adding to the momentum building here and showing the type of corporate leadership that not only supports the work to make downtown safe, vibrant, and beautiful but also strengthens the fabric of the neighborhood for all who live, work, and visit.”
