Illinois legislators, investors, and civic and business leaders gathered at the Andrew C. Taylor Center for Civic Collaboration in Greater St. Louis, Inc. for a discussion on policy priorities and expectations for the upcoming year. The event, hosted by Greater St. Louis, Inc., featured two panel discussions where prominent figures shared their insights.

Leann Chilton, Vice President of Government Relations at BJC Healthcare, moderated a panel with Jay Hoffman, Assistant Majority Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives, and Representative Katie Stewart. During the discussion, the two Democrats delved into topics such as the recently approved $52.7 billion state budget and outlined their party's focus on infrastructure, workforce development, and education. Hoffman emphasized, "We are committed to investing in key areas that will drive economic growth and improve the lives of Illinois residents."

The morning's second panel, moderated by John Keller, President of the RiverBend Growth Association, featured C.D. Davidsmeyer, Assistant Republican Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives, and Illinois Senator Erica Harriss. The Republican representatives highlighted the significance of bipartisan collaboration in passing legislation that fosters economic expansion within the state. Harriss remarked, "It is crucial that we set aside our differences and work together to create a favorable environment for businesses to thrive in Illinois."

The event provided a platform for key stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue and exchange ideas on how to address crucial issues facing Illinois. The discussions underscored the importance of cooperation and shared goals in driving progress and prosperity for the state.
