Several states are seeking to intervene on behalf of Texas in an election challenge to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The states of Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Utah are seeking to join the lawsuit.
“[T]he Intervening States have a strong interest in ensuring that the unconstitutional administration of elections in the Defendant States does not compromise ballot security and unfairly dilute the votes of voters in the Intervening States,” Missouri’s filing reads.
The state are seeking to join a lawsuit Texas filed with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the votes in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. The lawsuit argues that the states treated certain voters differently than others and there were multiple voting irregularities in each state.
Texas argues the states violated the electors clause, due process and equal protection.
