U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) has welcomed the Senate's confirmation of Zachary Bluestone as a judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. Bluestone previously served as Deputy Solicitor General under Schmitt during his time as Missouri’s Attorney General.
In a statement, Senator Schmitt said, “Zachary Bluestone is a highly experienced attorney of the highest moral and intellectual fiber – a lawman through and through. I was deeply impressed by his work in the Missouri Attorney General’s office when I was AG, where I saw his tireless devotion to the Constitution and the rule of law firsthand. I thank President Trump for nominating this highly-qualified candidate to serve on the bench and my Senate colleagues for their support.”
This marks the third judicial confirmation by the Senate for the Eastern District of Missouri. Senator Schmitt collaborated with President Trump and White House officials to prioritize Missouri’s judicial appointments.
