U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) appeared on Fox News’ Ingraham Angle to discuss concerns regarding President Joe Biden’s mental fitness and the ongoing investigation into the use of an autopen for presidential authorizations during Biden’s administration.

During the interview, Schmitt addressed what he described as a coverup of Biden’s mental decline. He stated, “We can walk and chew gum at the same time. We can focus on the future but make sure nothing like this ever happens again. When I talk to real people in real America, Laura, back in Missouri, this is something that they are asking about all the time. Who was actually running the country? You had whistleblowers come forward who said that Joe Biden got lost trying to find the bathroom in the west wing. And who was in charge of the autopen? Look at all the decisions President Trump has had to make in the last two or three weeks with Iran and NATO, the Big, Beautiful Bill, and more. You need someone with all of their capabilities at their disposal in the Oval Office. Clearly that wasn’t the case with Joe Biden. I think we are dealing with one of the biggest scandals and cover-ups we have ever seen in this country. We are over the target, and we should not let this thing go.”

Schmitt also discussed his role leading an investigation through a Judiciary Committee subcommittee into how frequently and under what circumstances an autopen—a device used for signing documents—was utilized during Biden’s presidency. “In the Subcommittee that I’m chairing on the Judiciary Committee, we have sent a special access request to the Archivist to make sure there is a paper trail. There should be authorization for each time that autopen is utilized. We will find out who was actually doing what and who was actually in charge,” Schmitt said.

He further commented on his observations from attending a presidential debate: “Never forget, Laura, I was at that first debate in the spin room, we were all watching this thing unfold in real time. The Democrats actually wanted the American people to believe that not only was Joe Biden competent to finish his term, but that he would have another four years. Only when debate was on full display did they install Kamala Harris. They were willing to go along with this because of their Trump Derangement Syndrome and obsession with holding on to power. The American people deserve more than that. This can’t happen again. American people deserve answers as to who was actually part of this cover-up and this conspiracy to hide this from the American people.”

Schmitt contrasted media access between administrations: “Remember, they were shielding this guy from any real press really, any real interviews. And you compare that to what President Trump has done in the first six months of his administration. You have open Cabinet hearings, he invites people into the Oval Office to talk about Executive Orders. He is keeping a running dialogue with the American people. That’s the best way you restore trust. But what the Biden administration did was destroy that trust and they are continuing that effort with a lot of minions around him and probably trying to protect their own reputations because they knew all along this guy wasn’t competent.”

He concluded by reflecting on broader implications: “I take no pleasure in this. If we all live long enough this thing will happen. But this guy was the President of United States. This fraud that was perpetrated on American people, you know, can’t go unchecked. And it’s also important to remember that people who are actually in charge then were these radical staffers writing white papers on open borders.They actually did it.They allowed 20 million people in here while Joe Biden was asleep at switch quite literally.”
