U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) voted in favor of the Senate’s fiscal year 2026 appropriations package, which includes provisions to support Fort Leonard Wood and Missouri’s agricultural sector. The legislation contains language introduced by Hawley aimed at safeguarding the hospital at Fort Leonard Wood and mandates that the Army address and replace outdated housing for service members stationed at the base.
“Tonight, the Senate passed a spending bill that includes my amendment to protect the hospital at Fort Leonard Wood and require the Army to work to replace all aging family housing on post. This bill also includes support for vital services that Missouri farmers and ranchers rely on. These are big wins for Missouri,” said Senator Hawley.
Senator Hawley has previously advocated for improvements at Fort Leonard Wood, securing over $100 million in past funding for new homes and urging the Army earlier this year to prevent reductions in staffing and essential services at the base hospital.
The appropriations bill, now approved by the Senate, sets government spending levels for military construction, veterans affairs, and agriculture.
