Three attorneys from the Missouri Attorney General’s Office have been elected to leadership positions within The Missouri Bar, according to a statement released by Attorney General Andrew Bailey.

“The election of Jeremiah Morgan, Brad Baker, and Paige Wheeler to these important leadership positions is a testament to their professionalism and commitment to advancing the legal profession in Missouri,” said Attorney General Bailey. “I am proud to have such dedicated attorneys representing both the Missouri Attorney General’s Office and the broader legal community.”

Jeremiah J. Morgan, Deputy Attorney General for Civil Litigation, will serve on the Board of Governors of The Missouri Bar for District 4 (Cole County). Morgan has worked at the Attorney General’s Office for 13 years, previously serving as Deputy Solicitor General and as General Counsel to the Missouri Supreme Court before returning to his current role.

Paige Wheeler, Assistant Attorney General in the Public Protection Section specializing in the Sexually Violent Predators Unit, was elected to represent District 6 (Cole, Moniteau, and Osage counties) on the Young Lawyers’ Section Council. Wheeler has been with the office since 2018 after graduating from the University Of Missouri School Of Law. Her unit focuses on keeping communities safe by committing dangerous sexual predators to secure facilities and defending against attempts at release or violations of release terms.

Brad Baker, an Assistant Attorney General in the Governmental Affairs Section since 2021 and a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Law, was elected to represent District 9 (City of St. Louis) on the Young Lawyers’ Section Council. His section represents state agencies in courts and administrative tribunals, enforces Missouri’s Sunshine Law, and works on public safety issues.

Lawyers across districts in Missouri selected new members for both bodies during recent elections. These individuals will begin their two-year terms following The Missouri Bar’s Annual Meeting scheduled for September 17–19 in Branson.

The statement also notes that as demands grow statewide, the Attorney General’s Office is expanding its legal team and encourages attorneys interested in public service roles to explore job opportunities at https://ago.mo.gov/about-us/job-opportunities/.

The Missouri Bar was established by order of the Supreme Court of Missouri in 1944 and serves over 30,000 practicing lawyers with a mission focused on improving both law practice standards and justice administration throughout the state.
