An ordinary trip to Custom Convenience in Gower became memorable for a Missouri Lottery player who decided to purchase a “$250 Million Extravaganza” Scratchers ticket while getting gas.

“I was getting gas and just decided to get a ticket,” the player said. “It was a new ticket, too, so I thought I’d try it.”

After scratching off the ticket, the player had to verify several times before realizing they had won one of the game’s $50,000 prizes.

“It was my lucky day, I guess,” the winner commented. “I was pretty excited.”

Since its launch on May 27, players have claimed over $9.3 million from the “$250 Million Extravaganza.” There are still more than $257.8 million in unclaimed prizes available, including three top prizes of $5 million, three prizes of $1 million, and 47 additional $50,000 prizes.

In Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24), Clinton County players won over $2.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $307,000 in commissions and bonuses. Additionally, over $1.5 million from lottery proceeds supported education programs within the county.
