The Downtown Summer Nights series is set to return to Kiener Plaza in St. Louis for its second year, beginning Thursday, June 26. This event, organized by Greater St. Louis, Inc., will take place every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., continuing through August 28.
Kurt Weigle, Chief Downtown Officer for Greater St. Louis, Inc., stated: "Downtown Summer Nights is the perfect way to celebrate summer in St. Louis, and Kiener Plaza is the perfect place for the celebration." He added that they are excited to host another year of this experience.
The event will feature outdoor movies and live music each week. The movie lineup includes musicals such as “Grease,” “Frozen,” “Mamma Mia!,” and “The Wiz,” curated in partnership with The Muny. Live music acts will be announced on the event website stlsummernights.com.
A special highlight of Downtown Summer Nights will be a performance by the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on August 28 at Kiener Plaza.
Food and drinks will be available from local food trucks and pop-up bars during the events.
In addition to Downtown Summer Nights, other weekly summer activities include live music throughout downtown through a local musician busking program and Lunchtime Live at Old Post Office Plaza every Wednesday until October.
