A Missouri Lottery player fulfilled a longtime dream after securing a Show Me Cash ticket for the April 4 drawing, which resulted in a jackpot prize of $111,000. This jackpot enabled him to purchase his dream car.
"I usually play Lotto, but I had got a Show Me Cash ticket during the St. Patrick’s Day promotion," he stated. "I kinda liked that game, so I thought I’d give it a try."
His winning ticket was acquired at Hy-Vee, 301 N.E. Rice Road in Lee’s Summit. Upon checking his numbers post-draw, he made a surprising discovery.
"The ticket I scanned said go to the Lottery office, which I’d never seen before," he expressed. "So then I looked up the winning numbers and I couldn’t believe it!"
With the jackpot win, he could obtain a long-desired vehicle. "I got a new car, and every morning I wake up and I look out into the garage to make sure I wasn’t dreaming!" he chuckled.
The winning numbers for that day were 4, 14, 31, 34, and 37. The Show Me Cash draw takes place daily at 8:59 p.m., with starting jackpots set at $50,000, which increase until won. The jackpot for tonight's draw is estimated at $94,000.
In the fiscal year 2024, players in Jackson County received over $109.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received in excess of $9.8 million in commissions and bonuses, with more than $22 million from Lottery proceeds allocated to education programs in the county.
