A Missouri Lottery player recently claimed a $50,000 Powerball prize from a Double Play drawing held on November 23, 2024. The winner, who purchased the ticket at Sam’s Market on Highway 100 in Pacific, did not realize his win until he visited a Missouri Lottery retailer on April 7, expecting to claim a free ticket.

“I actually thought that I had won a free ticket,” the player explained. “When I had the clerk scan it and he told me how much I won, I told him to check it again.”

The player recounted that when he first scanned the ticket using the Missouri Lottery app, he noticed the winning message but did not realize its significance. “All it said was that I had a winner,” he laughed.

The ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number drawn in the Double Play feature. The winning numbers for the November 23 Double Play drawing were 36, 40, 41, 50, and 60, with a Powerball number of 13.

Double Play is an additional feature for Powerball that allows a player’s numbers to be entered into a second drawing after the main Powerball drawing. Powerball is a multi-state draw game with drawings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.

In the fiscal year 2024, Franklin County players won over $24.6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $2.1 million in commissions and bonuses, while over $5.9 million from Lottery proceeds supported education programs in the county.
