The Old Courthouse in St. Louis is scheduled to reopen on May 3 after an extensive $27.5 million renovation. This historic building, which dates back to 1862, stands as a symbol of hope and renewal while marking significant moments in U.S. history. The recent refurbishment seeks to honor the nation's past while serving as a bridge to St. Louis' future.

This renovation marks the final stage of the CityArchRiver Project, a $380 million initiative combining public and private funding. The project also included renovations of the Gateway Arch National Park and the Museum at the Gateway Arch. These efforts have significantly improved the connection between the national monument and Downtown St. Louis. The revamped Old Courthouse is expected to enhance this connection, acting as a prominent destination and drawing more visitors to the downtown area.

Ryan McClure, Executive Director of the Gateway Arch Park Foundation and a GSL Investor Council member, commented on the project's importance, saying, "Downtown must succeed for St. Louis to succeed, and this reopening is part of that." He added, "There’s concerted efforts by lots of civic organizations in ways that I don’t think we’ve seen in generations, to bring back the core of our city."
