Schnuck Markets, Inc., known for its support of local enterprises, has launched a program, the Schnucks Springboard Diverse-Owned Business Accelerator, to assist local startups. This effort aims to facilitate growth and stability among small businesses. The inaugural cohort consists of ten startups selected based on their business stability, potential for sales growth, strategic vision, and corporate responsibility.

Over the past seven months, these startups have participated in business development classes at Schnucks. They are now prepared to enter a new phase: a four-week in-store product trial set in 15 Schnucks locations.

The initiative is seen as mutually beneficial. It provides Schnucks the opportunity to cultivate potential new brands for their shelves, while small businesses receive valuable experience and knowledge to aid their growth in a competitive market.

"Schnucks is a nationally recognized top grocery chain. If you’re prepared to go in Schnucks, you’re prepared for success in other locations," said Sylvester Chisom, co-founder of Show Me the World, a participant in the program.

Show Me the World, founded at Vashon High School, focuses on providing education in entrepreneurship, leadership, and STEM to students from underserved communities in St. Louis.
