While returning home after a difficult workday, a Missouri Lottery player stopped at the Conoco gas station in O’Fallon, located at 8695 Veterans Parkway. She picked up a soda and a “$5,000,000 Fortune” Scratchers ticket. “It was a Friday and it was kind of a crummy day, and so I decided to stop in there,” she commented.

Upon reaching home and scratching her ticket, her day took a surprising turn. She uncovered a winning ticket holding one of the three $5 million top prizes available. “I was just like, ‘Is this real?’” she recalled, explaining that she called her son to verify the ticket.

Initially, her son thought the ticket was a fake. “He told me it was fake!” she recounted humorously. “But after I settled down a little and looked at it again, I knew it was real!”

The “$5,000,000 Fortune” game has rewarded players with over $98.1 million in various prizes so far. There remain over $154.3 million in undistributed prizes, including one more top prize of $5 million, three $1 million prizes, and 26 prizes of $50,000.

During the fiscal year 2024, players in St. Charles County received more than $68.2 million from Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county earned upwards of $6.4 million in commissions and bonuses, while education programs benefited from more than $16.5 million in Lottery funds.
