The winner of a $6.3 million Lotto jackpot in St. Charles County was unaware of his fortune until several days after the March 19 drawing. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Rocket, located at 463 Hawk Ridge Trail in Lake St. Louis. The winner only discovered his success when he revisited the store and checked the ticket.
“I walked up to the scanner and it told me to go to the Lottery office,” the winner stated. “So I had the cashier check it for me because I was a little bit surprised.”
The cashier confirmed the substantial win upon scanning the ticket and informed the winner about the need to visit the Lottery office. The realization of the win came when he verified the numbers at home, matching all six drawn numbers: 5, 8, 30, 32, 39, and 40.
“I had to check like three times, and my wife had to check, too!” he recounted. “It was just too exciting!”
The winner later claimed the prize at the Lottery’s St. Louis regional office.
Lotto, an in-state Draw Game, conducts drawings every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:59 p.m., with an estimated jackpot of $1.9 million for tonight’s drawing.
During FY24, players in St. Charles County won over $68.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers were awarded over $6.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $16.5 million was allocated to education programs in the county.
