The Catholic Church will observe the World Day of Migrants and Refugees (WDMR) on Sunday, September 29. This day is set aside each year on the last Sunday of September to reflect on the experiences of migrants and refugees. The theme for this year's observance is "God Walks With His People."

The day's events will commence with an opening prayer at 1 p.m. at Saint Louis University's Joseph G. Lipic Clock Tower. Brother Ken Homan, S.J., will welcome attendees and lead the opening prayer. Among the speakers at the Clock Tower will be Ebony Chism, who serves as SLU's program coordinator for the Jesuit Worldwide Learning program.

Following the initial gathering, a procession to the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis is scheduled to begin around 1:30 p.m., culminating in a Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Mark S. Rivituso at 2:30 p.m.
