The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) announced on May 4 a full schedule of athletic events for the week, including participation in NCAA regionals and conference tournaments across several sports.

This update is significant as multiple UMSL teams are entering postseason play, with opportunities to advance in regional and national competitions.

According to the announcement, the women’s golf team will compete at the NCAA East Regional in Findlay, Ohio from May 4 through May 6. The men’s golf team is set to participate in the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional beginning on May 7 in Big Rapids, Michigan. The softball team will open its Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament run against Rockhurst on May 6 at East Peoria, Illinois. Baseball is scheduled to start GLVC Tournament play on May 7 at Marion, Illinois.

In recent results highlighted by UMSL, the women’s tennis team achieved a milestone by winning its first GLVC championship after defeating UIndy 4-2. Aleksandra Lopez, Hannah Tse and Millie Wileman were named to the All-Tournament Team while head coach Megan Holdridge was recognized as GLVC Coach of the Year. “UMSL receives the GLVC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Midwest Regional and will find out their site, opponent, date and time on Monday evening during the NCAA Selection Show,” according to UMSL.

The baseball team secured three wins out of four games against Maryville over the past weekend which clinched them a number two seed for their upcoming tournament appearance. Meanwhile, softball split doubleheaders against Truman State and William Jewell; they enter postseason play as a number four seed facing Rockhurst next.

Looking ahead, these tournament appearances offer UMSL athletes opportunities for further achievements this spring.
