Thomas C. Albus will continue serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri after being appointed by the U.S. District Court on Monday. Albus has held the position since August 1 and was sworn in by Chief U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark under 28 United States Code 546, which allows him to serve until a permanent appointment is made.

Albus’s nomination for the role, submitted by President Donald J. Trump, is currently awaiting confirmation in the U.S. Senate after receiving approval from the Judiciary Committee on October 16.

“I am grateful for the vote of the Court and honored to lead an office of outstanding professionals in the Eastern District of Missouri,” said Albus.
