Former Missouri State women’s basketball player Tina Robbins Wilson was announced on April 15 as a member of the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Fame class.
Robbins, who played for the Lady Bears from 1991 to 1994 under coach Cheryl Burnett, helped lead her team to a record of 104 wins and 23 losses during her time at Missouri State. Her selection recognizes both her athletic achievements and contributions to the university’s basketball program.
Robbins joins Paul Pressey of Tulsa (men’s basketball), Ray Conger of Iowa State (men’s track), Desiraye Osburn Speer of Wichita State (women’s track), and Phil Rodgers of Houston (men’s golf) in the Hall of Fame’s 29th class. These honorees will be recognized at institutional events over the coming year.
A native of Duenweg, Missouri, and graduate of Joplin High School, Robbins played on four consecutive conference championship teams and participated in Missouri State’s first four NCAA Tournament appearances. As a sophomore in 1992, she earned NCAA Midwest Regional MVP honors after leading her team past UCLA and Ole Miss into its first Final Four appearance. The following season, she helped the Lady Bears reach the Sweet Sixteen again.
During her senior year, Robbins received honorable mention on the Kodak All-American Team and was named Most Valuable Player at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. She also received Academic All-District VII recognition that year. She remains Missouri State’s all-time career assists leader with 657 assists and holds the single-season record with 216 assists. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was inducted into the Missouri State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002.
Robbins is married to James Wilson and has a stepson named Collin Wilson. She recently completed her nineteenth season as head women’s basketball coach at Crowder College in Neosho.
