The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved the nominations of four individuals to serve as district judges in Missouri. U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) expressed support for the committee’s decision, noting that these are the first judicial nominees President Trump has selected for Missouri.
“This morning, the Senate Judiciary Committee sent four outstanding Missourians—whom President Trump tapped as his first judicial nominees—to the Senate floor for a final vote. My state has waited four long years for these judges, and I look forward to them serving Missouri with the highest distinction. To Josh Divine, Maria Lanahan, Zachary Bluestone, and Cris Stevens—congratulations are in order,” said Senator Hawley.
The nominees include Joshua M. Divine, nominated to serve as United States District Judge for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri; Maria A. Lanahan, Zachary M. Bluestone, and Cristian M. Stevens, each nominated to serve as United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri.
These positions have remained unfilled during the Biden Administration. Senator Hawley collaborated with President Trump and White House officials to ensure that filling these vacancies in Missouri was given priority.
