A Missouri Lottery player recently secured a $50,000 win with a "Scratchers" ticket. The winning ticket, from the game "$5,000,000 Fortune," was purchased at Casey’s located at 807 S. Missouri St., in Macon.
"I took the ticket out to my car and couldn’t believe it when I scanned it on my phone and it said, ‘Congratulations!’” said the winner. To confirm her win, she visited another store to scan the ticket again.
“It showed the same thing! Then I took it to the clerk to make sure it was really saying I won!” she added with laughter. “I’ve never won anything like this in my life!”
To date, players of "$5,000,000 Fortune" have won over $109.5 million in prizes. More than $143 million in prizes remain unclaimed, including one $5 million top prize, three $1 million prizes, and an additional 21 prizes worth $50,000 each.
In fiscal year 2024 (FY24), Macon County players won more than $2.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers earned over $229,000 in commissions and bonuses while more than $135,000 from Lottery proceeds supported education programs within the county.
