The Urban League, in collaboration with its partners, will hold a large-scale distribution event on Saturday, June 14, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at their headquarters located at 1408 North Kingshighway. The event aims to provide food, toiletries, and other resources for tornado recovery efforts.
Items requested for ongoing relief include tarps, caulk, hand tools, canned goods, general supplies like bottled water and batteries, as well as infant and hygiene products.
Action St. Louis/The People’s Response has announced new operating hours and a new location at Kingdom Church on 4112 West Florissant Avenue. Donations of supplies are accepted until June 28 during the specified hours: Tuesday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
A new drop-off location for materials is now open at The Monarch at 3940 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Donations can be made between 8 a.m. and noon.
The City of St. Louis’ Disaster Assistance Center is operational inside Chaifetz Arena at 1 South Compton Avenue to assist residents affected by the tornadoes with resources such as vaccines, emotional support, mental health care, legal assistance, job programs, and more. The center will reopen on Monday, June 16 through Wednesday, June 18; and again from Monday, June 23 through Thursday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Volunteers are needed for ongoing efforts and can sign up through online centers established by The United Way of Greater St. Louis and Action St. Louis/The People’s Response.
For financial contributions towards relief efforts or long-term rebuilding projects impacted by the storms in St. Louis areas or across the bi-state region, donations can be made to the City of St. Louis Tornado Response Fund or the United Way of Greater St. Louis Severe Storm/Tornado Relief Fund.
