For a Missouri Lottery player in Jackson County, a recent win of $55,558 on a "Cash Box Bingo" ticket marked an unforgettable day. The ticket was purchased at Big B's located at 3800 E. Gregory Blvd. in Kansas City before being taken home for scratching.
"I was shocked!" the winner expressed after discovering the win.
Initially met with disbelief from his girlfriend, the winner resolved this by having the ticket scanned at a retail location.
"I had to take her to the store and when they showed her, that’s when she really realized," he explained.
Since its inception on March 3, players have claimed over $1.8 million playing "Cash Box Bingo." Currently, there are still $9.4 million worth of unclaimed prizes available, including four more prizes each valued at $55,558.
In fiscal year 2024, Jackson County players secured more than $109.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers earned over $9.8 million through commissions and bonuses while more than $22 million from lottery proceeds supported education programs within the county.
