The ongoing tornado recovery efforts require continued support in the form of supplies, donations, and volunteers. Teams leading these efforts have updated the list of needed items at three designated locations.
At 4theVille, located at 4144 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, relief operations will continue until Friday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding Sunday, June 1. A significant need for plywood has been identified here, along with other construction and clean-up materials such as tarps, OSB sheathing, and various tools.
Action St. Louis/The People's Response is operating out of the O’Fallon Park Rec Center at 4343 West Florissant Avenue. Their efforts will proceed through Friday, June 6 (closed Monday), from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day over the weekend. This location also requires plywood urgently, alongside reusable bags and cleaning supplies.
The Urban League Headquarters on Kingshighway at Dr. Martin Luther King Dr will host a large-scale distribution event on Saturday, May 31 from noon to 3 p.m., continuing their relief work with an emphasis on obtaining tarps and general supplies like bottled water and batteries.
Volunteers are needed across all locations to assist with these operations. Opportunities can be found through The United Way of Greater St. Louis and Action St. Louis/The People's Response volunteer centers.
For those wishing to contribute financially, the City of St. Louis Tornado Response Fund has been established in collaboration with the St. Louis Community Foundation to aid immediate relief and long-term rebuilding efforts in storm-affected areas.
Businesses impacted by the storm can access assistance via an assessment form provided by the St. Louis Development Corporation to determine their specific needs.
Additionally, contributions can be made to the United Way of Greater St. Louis Severe Storm/Tornado Relief Fund which supports affected residents across the region as well as disaster response nonprofits.
For more information or resources related to immediate relief needs, individuals are encouraged to visit the City’s dedicated page for tornado recovery efforts.
